Simple doesn’t mean easy.

BBB Johannes Deimling

Hello in July, {{first_name}}!

Last time we wrote you two months ago, so we hope you missed us a little bit 😉

For the start, we have some interesting news for art teachers. However, artists can find inspiration there as well. For a while now, Johannes is writing articles for Friedrich Verlag, a leading German educational publishing house based in Hanover, which specializes in pedagogical journals, books, and digital teaching materials for teachers and educators. In the last section of this email you will find one of the articles and also a question about workshops.

Not sure if the news has spread this far, but Johannes is currently writing a book on teaching and learning performance art, with a focus on Scriptwork, an exercise developed by Johannes that some of our former participants already know. Keep your eyes peeled!

Regarding our next PAS | Studies, we will work (again) in Czechia but this time in a beautiful, rural surrounding. It needs a little effort to get there but it’s possible to reach by train which is already great. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore performance art and at the same time take a break from mass of information and stimulis that surround us everyday. This environment helps the artistic process to flourish. Moreover, this will the 100 (!) edition of PAS | Performance Art Studies.

We’ll share more about the workshops below, along with a few things we found worth passing on.

Let’s stay in touch!

Coming Really Soon in Czechia

Anniversary edition will take place at the cultural centre in Rehlovice, Czechia, from Monday 3 August to Sunday 9 August 2026.

When: 3 – 9 August 2026
Where: Kulturní centrum in Rehlovice, Czechia - a beautiful venue with rustic barns and peaceful surroundings that instantly put your mind at ease.
Application deadline: first come first served, very limited spots
Accommodation and food included.
Teaching language: English
Participant age: 17-150 years old 🙂

Concept: After 100 PAS workshops, we feel no need to propose a specific theme or concept. Instead, we place our trust in the participants and in what can emerge when people gather around performance art. PAS 100 is open to all forms, questions, ideas, and artistic approaches. Bring the thoughts, concerns, curiosities, and practices that matter to you.
